255 valve with 740 Logix Day modified to Back Wash Only ( also called Series 253 )
Best used to replace similar 155 and 255 valves specifically converted to "backwash only".
NOTE: When replacing a valve made before 1996 ( which would be first models of 255 and ALL years of 155 ),
you'll need to change the Riser Pipe in the tank to new 1.05" O.D. ( we provided free Bottom Distributor, MD1236, with new valve order ), OR use a
Tube Bushing 13/16 x 1.05 part 1041010This is the 255 valve and besides programming to the Logix timer to "Filter" operation,
we have modified the Backwash Plug, Brine Control, and Injector for optimum performances as a Backwash Only Valve ( no brine draw cycle ).
Commonly used on tanks for backwashing Carbon, Birm, and Acid Neutralizing Medium such as Calcite. If this Valve is to replace an existing valve of the SAME type, then the existing By Pass or Piping Yoke will attach on to the valve. Otherwise you will NEED either a standard Noryl plastic piping connection in either 3/4" or 1" with all valves purchased, OR a By-Pass Option can be purchased separately.
Osmonics now offers the rugged Autotrol 256 bypass valve. The 256 bypass allows the control valve to be isolated from water flow, but still provide water to the home. This is helpful during the routine maintenance of the valve. Each 253 valve is available with the 256 bypass valve option.
Autotrol / Pentiar Service manual included with each new valve.
Includes:
Upper and Lower Distributor in 1.05" size
and
Free Dust Cover.

NOTE: The "air check" assembly is not needed nor included with this modified version of the 255 valve, since this valve is NOT connected to a brine tank ( or any other type of "feeder" tank ).
When properly programmed to the "F", filter, mode, it will skip over the Brine Rinse and Brine Refill cycles.
