Odor removal with Fleck 5600 12 Day 120 volt Valve on Tank Holding 1.5 cu.ft. of Catalytic Carbon with Chlorine Regeneration for moderate levels of Odor removal.
Automatic Regeneration for Well Water Odor Basic system includes automatic control valve, mineral tank ( 10" d x 54" h ), One and a half Cubic Feet of Catalytic Carbon, and a round poly feeder tank ( 5 gallon - CJ7181-03 - pictured in related products )). You will need to pour in gravel and carbon with funnel provided, screw valve to tank, then connect inlet, outlet, and drain line. Requires 5 gpm to properly Backwash ( usually once every 3 days ). Plug into electric and set time of day. Select to Backwash once every 3rd or 6th day. And once a month add 1/2 gallon of liquid bleach to 2 gallons of water in the Feeder Tank. Plumbing connections can be either 3/4" or 1" ( no extra charge ). Five years parts warranty on Valve and Tanks. A Stainless Steel By Pass Included. This system works well on up to 2 ppm of Hydrogen Sulfide. This is our largest system with Carbon and chlorine regeneratione. Please email for specifics ( include your water analysis results, please ). We will not sell this unit to you, until we are confident it will work on your water quality. Higher levels of Hydrogen Sulfide require larger tanks, or other types of treatment equipment. The carbon is warranted for 1 year and should last about 5 years. In most cases, it is required to have a water softener ahead of the Carbon tank to remove hardness, iron, and tannins ( yellow-brown color ). The carbon can be replaced inexpensively, when the time comes that it is necessary. |
The oxidizing power of the bleach ( or you can use hydrogen peroxide, it just costs more ),
will remove the hydrogen sulfide "trapped" on the carbon and help to expose new "pores" on the activated carbon in the tank.
Thus allowing the carbon to continue to do the job of removing Odor from the water for an extended period of time.
And at some point, the Carbon would need to be replaced.
How long the carbon lasts, or how much you need to regeneration are all dependent on the AMOUNT of H2S in the water, the amount of water used, and the quantity of carbon ( tank size ) used.
Installation Steps:1. With the Riser pipe/tube positioned to the bottom center of the tank, Cover the pipe opening with small bag ( like a sandwiched / snack bag ).
Using the Funnel,
2. Pour in the full 16 lbs. bag of gravel3. Pour in all 1 and 1/2 cu.ft. of Catalytic Carbon media
4. Screw on Fleck 5600 valve with top basket attached over pipe
5. Connect the small bleach feeder tank using the 3/8" tubing in the tank and with brass ferrule and nut to brass brine inlet fitting on Fleck head ( leave out the inline screen that comes in the "brine kit" - discard the small screen )
6. Connect Bypass to Valve ( 2 clips / 2 screws ) and then your water in & out
7. Connect drain fitting ( use only Teflon tape on threads ), and then you can slide 5/8" x 1/2" hose over included 1/2" barbed fitting.
8. Plug in power / set time of day / slide some pins outward for which days to wash.
Every 3rd or 6th Pin ( every 3rd or 6th night to wash ).
9. Run a complete Backwash cycle using the control valve
