Only recommended for special applications.
We recommend using the ResinTech CG8, Sybron C249, or similar "standard" mesh High Capacity resins for residential water softener applications.
Strong Acid Cation Exchange Resin
(For use in water softening applications)
A fine mesh gel cation resin produced to specific particle size. This resin has improved kinetics compared to normal resins due to higher surface area. Used primarily in small capacity units ( 0.5 - 1.5 cu.ft. ) and not recommended for larger units, or where high flow rates ( above 8 gpm are required ). And while it can help with iron removal, we recommend larger capacity tanks using standard high capacity resin, and iron out cleaner used with salt regenerate to handle high iron levels ( above 2 ppm of iron ).
