Backwash only Valve 263 with old 440 timers,

but not used / needed with newer Logix controller ( 740, 742 )

Since this is a "filter" and not a "water softener", then you may need to change the Injector.

Your valve body may have a "Plugged" injector,

Sometime ago, Autotrol stopped using a PLUGGED injector for the 263 ( backwash only ) application when Logix controls were used.

and the valve should work better ( less bang ) if it had one with a "hole" to let the pressure equalize.
