We have parts for the 163 and 168 here:
And a "rebuild" kit for the 168,
For the 163, you need less parts, and we do NOT have a Kit.
1) Set of Flapper Valve Discs part # 155A152
1) Backwash Plug part # 25F- 7 - 14 ( based on tank diameter )
1) Flow Control Balls part # 4F
2) Gaskets for Adapter Nuts part # 54F
1) Silicone Lubricant 1 gram
The Key item being the Flapper valve discs,
other 163 / 168 items,
Autotrol 163 ( backwash only ) and 168 ( water softener ) Valves were last made in the year 2000.
While there is no direct replacement, the Models 263 ( replace 163 ) and 268 ( replace 168 ) Performa valves would be the easiest to use as a replacement.
The Performa 263 uses the Logix 742 timer to control the days ( nights ) it will backwash the media tank.
The Performa 268 is available with "metered" control and is the Autotrol 268 / 762 Logix ,
or a "day timer" ( logix 742 ) is also avialable at a slightly lower cost.
and there is a "special application" version for use on Greensand Filter tanks,
The newer 263 and 268 valve bodies would still allow the use of your old Large Adapter Nuts.
New Gaskets ( pn AP54F ) would be required if using your old Adapters.
NOTE: The old by pass on the 163 and 168 will NOT work,
and the Newer By Pass Performa 1265 should be purchased if you plan on using this type of connection.
See our Valve Replacement Guide for more details, and the steps involved.
