Can an Autotrol 255 valve be converted from softener use to filter ( carbon ) use?

Can an Autotrol 255 valve be converted from softener use to filter ( carbon )use?

Sure.. Just cut off the # 1 cam lobes ( brine rinse and brine refill ) on your Camshaft, so the # 1 valve disc will NEVER open.

ADD Top distributor ( MD1203 ) if you don't' already have one.

And increase the Backwash Plug Rate a couple gallons ( depends on tank diameter ).

Reference our "backwash" rate chart on this Autotrol Valve as your "guide" to correct size plug you would need, and if flow control ball needed or not.

I would like to add, that if you put Carbon in the Tank, you will also need Gravel at the bottom.
