1/2" connecting ELBOW with steel grippers for connection 1/2" brine tubing to Air Check Brine Pickup J-Tube 1/2 " ( BPH4500 - sold separately ).

When putting on to the brine pick up rod or your tubing, you want to slide the Nut on first, and then the steel grip washer with grips facing away from nut ( or outward ).
It's the logical direction, as it would be nearly impossible to put the steel grip washer on "backwards", as the "grips" would not let you slide it that way.
Only slide steel grip on 1/4", and then the white tapered ferrule ring, with flat side against the steel grip right ( and tapered or beveled side of white ferrule right towards the elbow threads.
Now you are ready to tighten the nut to the elbow.
And please note, it's extremely difficult ( if not impossible ) to "re-use" these fitting that use the steel grip washer, as they don't come off once the washer is slide on and "grips" the tube they are attached to.
That is what makes them better than the standard "Jaco" or "compression" plastic elbow.
