Questions to help determine if a newly received motor is "defective"
when asking for a warranty replacement.
First be sure you have power and the correct voltage.
120 volt motors will not run when connected to 24 volt transformers.
Questions we would ask to help us make determination of the condition of the motor.
How did you determine the Gear did not turn?
Did you test the motor out of the Valve head,
and Mark the GEAR to see if it moved a little after 5 - 10 minute?
The gear "turns" at 1/30 rpm.,
so you can not "see" it as it moves.
Only by checking Progress after several minutes.
Is the Gear shaft solidly attached to the motor housing?
Can you send a photo or two showing the motor.
We have never had issues with the electrical portion of the timer motors,
but we have had occasions where the shaft was damaged in the shipping process.
If you can help us to understand the condition of the motor,
it would not need to be returned to us.
And we will then be able to provide a free / no cost replacement.
