Can you get Culligan parts or recommend where?

* ** Sorry, but we can not provide parts or service information for Culligan systems.

Culligan systems are 100% proprietary.

Parts and Service are only available from your local authorized Culligan Dealer.

About all we can offer is the RESIN ( they call Cullex ), as it's standard High Capacity Resin such as used in all major brands of Water Softeners.
See RESIN

Also, it possible to re-use your current RESIN and install into a standard threaded tank ( Culligan tanks are proprietary threads ), and purchase a standard threaded valve ( again, Culligan valves use a proprietary thread size and can not be used on standard medias ),

** Tank Adapter Bushing ( to re-use your TANK with a Standard Brand of control valve ).

QUESTION: Valve Head / Tank Replacement Options

I have a Culligan Medalist outdoor water softener Serial # 48151804J23 around 3 1/2 years old plagued with problems. I want to replace the entire mechanism from the tank up.
My question is: Can I replace the entire mechanism with a simple mechanical one from the tank up? Are all tanks the same? And which one would you recommend?

ANSWER:

You "should" replace the Tank and the Valve, since both are proprietary in design. Here is my recommendation. *** You need a new Tank ( here is one that holds 1 cu.ft. of resins ),
SEE: TANK - 9 x 48 BLACK POLYGLASS w/BASE ( or other sizes available )

* OR

** Tank Adapter Bushing ( to re-use your TANK with a Standard Brand of control valve ).

**
And you can Re-Use your resins in most cases, SEE: RESIN REPLACEMENT GUIDE

And the brine tank can be used, but you will need some 3/8" O.D. Tubing to connect to the new valve head,
and if using your old Culligan brine tank,
OR
To connect the 3/8" tubing directly to your existing Culligan Brine Pick Up Assembly,
You'll need
 this 1/4" female x 3/8" compression fitting, SEE: ELBOW, 1/4 f x 3/8 C FITTING PLASTIC JACO

and I recommend "Lock Leak" to seal the connection, SEE: THREAD SEALANT LOCK LEAK TUBE 39 ML

Location of the Elbow used to "adapt" the existing Culligan Brine Pick Up assembly to use 3/8" tubing,
Culligan Brine Adapter Elbow to 3/8 inch tubing

* For the Valve, I recommend the FLECK 5600 ECONOMINDER WATER SOFTENER VALVE,

and be sure to read the HOW TO REPLACE VALVE GUIDE

You will need to select either a 3/4" or 1" plastic male yoke or the Fleck Stainless Steel By Pass 3/4" or 1" to connect the new Fleck valve to your pipes.

Outdoor installations should also include the optional Valve cover ( must be ordered separately, as most people do not need the cover for their indoor installations ).

Pre-1980 Models
Pre-1980 Culligans used some Fleck 2500 parts
Customer Question:
I have a Culligan 444320 that I need to rebuild the main piston valve. the valve appears to be a fleck design. Your fleck 60090 piston kit looks just like mine . Can you advise as whether this will work for me?

Answer:

Only very old Culligans like the Mark 412 model, used the 60090.

This is the older model from the 70's and early 80's. It does use the same Piston (60090) and Seals (60121) and injector housing (and injectors) are Fleck. Also the DLFC housing. It's 1/2 Culligan and 1/2 Fleck 2500 (2510 only brass) and it is what earlier models of Culligan looked like before they went 100% proprietary after 1985 (give or take a couple years).
The brine valve assembly ( 60029 ) is NOT a direct replacement, but you can remove the Brine Stem portion from yours and "ours" to replace the "critical" part of that "assembly" if your Brine valve is "sticking" or not closing.

See: Fleck Repair Parts, Fleck 1500 & 2500 Valve Parts

Culligan Twin Tank Valve using Fleck 8500, 9000, and 9100 Controls.

Culligan has used the Fleck 8500, 9000 and 9100 Fleck valve controls for models that use twin resin tanks.
The parts used in the heads will match the parts and diagrams for the similar Fleck versions.
This means the pistons, seals, and gears can be purchased to rebuild or repair the valve.

NOTE: The Valve to Tank connections are usually unique and proprietary thread designed for Culligan brand, and Culligan media tanks.
Culligan tanks generally have a much larger and coarse size threading, unique to their brand ( and therefore only available from Culligan Dealer )

Brine Tank Replacement - Culligan 18 x 40

QUESTION:

Do you have a brine tank that I can purchase to replace a Culligan brine tank?
The tank is a 18" x 40" and I wanted to be sure that it will work with the rest of the system.

We sell an 18 x 40, but it's not the same as the Culligan brine tanks.
The Culligan brine tanks are molded to include a place to screw ( attach ) the Brine Well to the side wall, and it's a proprietary "feature" of their tanks.
So, a "standard" round brine tank would require some "modification", but could be used as a replacement to hold your salt.
The Brine Well would have to be attached by drilling into the side ( near the top ) and some "tie wraps" used to hold the Brine Well in place.
And this is assuming you use the Brine Well and the Brine Pick Up Float Assembly from your old Culligan brine tank.
Also, your old "brine grid" at the bottom is not going to fit "securely", but can be used at the bottom of the tank ( if it's not falling apart already ).
Note: Brine Grids are "optional" equipment, and not "required" or "included" with most Brine Tanks.

Follow up question, Customer asks:
If I purchase the tank with the float assembly installed in your tank I will not have to make any modifications?

NO, you can't do that.
The Complete 18 x 40 Brine Tank ( with Float Assembly installed ) will NOT connect to your Culligan brine tubing The "standard" is 3/8" O.D. brine tubing, and Culligan uses a slightly smaller size tubing ( 5/16" O.D. ).
You will need an adapter ( 3/8" O.D. tube x 5/16" O.D. tube, PN PI201210S John Guest Union ).

Culligan systems are 100% proprietary.

Other Parts and Service are only available from your local authorized Culligan Dealer.
