What is the difference between metered demand control and 12 day skipper wheel? * Metered.. Meter Demand Operation ** The Fleck 5600 version - 12 day works ( regenerates ) according to the "days" or "pins" you slide out ... no tracking of water used... just "runs" every set number of days.
* See this Video showing the Time Clock and Metered Versions compared,
https://youtu.be/-LmntgJyX4I
The following steps are involved in regeneration:
Time to leave in each cycle
Regen - none, valve does nothing in that position Rinse - none really, just move control knob until you hear the water flowing out the drain, and you'll be in Backwash cycle.
Backwash - 10 minutes
( usually 15 minutes for Backwash only applications ).
Brine rinse - 50 minutes ( and no less, as this is the most critical cycle )
** Nothing happens if during this time on a Backwash Only Valve ( no brine piston or brine cam gear used ).
Rapid rinse - 10 minutes
( usually 15 minutes for Backwash only applications ).
Settle rinse - 5 minutes
Brine refill - until it refills back to normal water level in brine tank ( 6 - 16 minutes ).
** Nothing happens if during this time on a Backwash Only Valve ( no brine piston or brine cam gear used ).

without working timer motor.

The 5600 Filter Valves using black top filter piston ( PN 60102-10 ), and if BACKWASH ONLY ( not connected to any type of "feeder" tank for potassium, salt, or chlorine) you would SKIP the Brine Rinse and Brine Refill.
Also the Backwash time would be increased to 15 minutes ( also the Rapid Rinse cycle to 15 minutes ).
