From experience in the field, we have found that if the unit fails to regenerate, you will have either a dead timer motor, a stripped gear ( or two ), or a broken post that holds a gear in the 440 Timer Housing. Problems related to improper, or incomplete regeneration are due to: air leaks in the brine tubing connections to brine pick up tube, clogged drain lines, valve discs that have worn out ( after 10 years ) or valve discs ( and all internal rubber components ) being damaged when used on a chlorinated water source.
