The opening at the top is the industry standard 2.5" with #8 NPT ( national pipe thread ), used by Fleck, Autotrol, Erie, Rainsoft and many other brands of control valves.

This is the plug that caps the small 1 1/4" "fill" hole used on many acid neutralizing filter tanks.
Includes oring.
Fits in a hole in tank that measures about 1 3/4".
