Corosex (Magnesium Oxide), is normally mixed with Calcite to treat very low acidic water ( less than 6.0 pH ). A 50/50 mix of Calcite and Corosex is often used. Corosex media should be backwashed on a regular basis to prevent it hardening. You will need to add more every 6 - 18 months ( depends how low your pH is to start and how much water you use ).
